Tax and accounting,
as computable rules.

Virtual DS is a South Korean technology startup, founded in 2022 by two university professors. We encode the rules of tax, accounting and finance as data and software first, then add AI on top, so every result comes with the reasons behind it.

01 · PRODUCTS

Two products, one capability

Tax Alpha turns tax law into computable rules. Our learning platform turns accounting and tax knowledge into content that can be assessed.

Tax Alpha In development
FINANCIAL TAXTECH · B2B

A tax ledger for investors

Tax Alpha consolidates trades scattered across brokerage accounts at the level of each taxpayer, and records and calculates the full tax history, from purchase to sale and filing, with the legal basis for every step.

01First module: capital gains tax engine for overseas stocks held by Korean residents
02Recalculates from raw buy and sell records, not from figures reported by brokerages
03Compares results by cost-basis method and aggregation scope, with the statute behind each
04Flags trades that need judgment for review by a tax professional
05Keeps raw trades and rule versions, so results can be recalculated when the law changes
For tax service firms, financial institutions and B2B partners · first release targeted for December 2026
Accounting & tax learning In university use
ASSESSMENT-DRIVEN EDTECH

From past exams to diagnosis

We structure past certification-exam questions by topic and connect practice, assessment and diagnosis of weak areas in one flow. The platform is already used in university accounting and tax courses.

01Question bank for a national accounting certification: 10 units, 55 topics, 460+ items
02ClassLog: in-class quizzes and per-student results, running in two accounting and tax courses at Hallym University (classlog.virtualds.kr)
03In development: an AI tutor that diagnoses answers step by step and points to what to re-check, instead of giving the answer
For high schools, colleges, universities and exam candidates
02 · APPROACH

Rules first, then AI.

We do not hand professional judgment to AI as is. We first implement it as verifiable business logic and data structures. AI then works on top of them to improve accuracy and efficiency.

STEP 1 · STRUCTURE

Structure the rules

Statutes, rulings and standards become rules that can be calculated and assessed.
STEP 2 · IMPLEMENT

Build the software

The rules become calculation engines and learning content.
STEP 3 · VERIFY

Verify and trace

Every result can be recalculated and checked against its sources.
